Bayer Materia Science is actively developing and expanding coating technology. At present, the company has successfully developed a metal protective coating that can work in harsh environments, both inside and outside the home, to ensure that the metal products coated with the coating are under extreme conditions. The service life is more than 10 years. This technical achievement will be announced at the 2008 Paint and Coatings Expo recently held in Los Angeles. Experts of Bayer MaterialScience will also present Bayer MaterialScience at the technical seminar during the same period of the show. Using the anti-corrosion treatment of the metal structures of aliphatic polyurethane coatings, and sharing with the participating experts Bayer MaterialScience's latest progress in the field of polyurethane coating technology development.
The project is completed by three experts from Bayer AG, including Chak Wong of the Bayer Technology Service Center, which has long been dedicated to the research and development of galvanized and zinc-rich paint protection systems for metal structures in chemical production environments. Mr. Carl Angeloff, Sales Manager, NAFTA Area, Bayer MaterialScience Anticorrosion Coatings and Mr. Kurt Best, Senior Chemist, Bayer MaterialScience. The three are the main researchers of this technology and they are the writer of this technical seminar.
At the workshop of Bayer Anti-corrosion Polyurethane Coatings, Mr. Wong will use the steel and metal under corrosion from the harsh environment of the chemical production factory as test samples. The high-temperature galvanizing and coating systems are used as contrasts. The coating system is divided into epoxy resin and traditional Polyurethane resin and new fast-curing aliphatic polyurethane three different systems. Based on the results of the final application, Mr. Wong concluded that aliphatic polyurethane coatings have a distinct advantage over electroplating and other coating systems. The advantage is not only reflected in the fast curing, but also the aliphatic polyurethane anti-corrosion coating has excellent coating adhesion, excellent coating gloss and color retention, and can effectively reduce the user's anti-corrosion costs.
Mr. Wong said: "Bayer MaterialScience has been insisting on the development of high-performance polyurethane coating technology using free polyurethane raw materials for a long time. Therefore, our polyurethane coating applications in extreme environments have rich on-the-spot experience and a solid theoretical foundation. We hope that the Paint and Coatings Expo will help PACE members better understand Bayer's polyurethane coating technology and enable users who need metal protection to find the right solution.â€
