China's Perovskite Solar Cell Research Achievements Released

[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] Recently, the team led by Li Can and Liu Shengzhong, researchers of the silicon-based solar battery research group (DNL1606) of the Department of Solar Energy Research of the Clean Energy National Laboratory of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, cooperated with Dr. Yang Dong of Shaanxi Normal University. New progress has been made in the research of flat-type perovskite solar cells, and related research results have been published in the Journal of the International Energy and Environmental Science (Energy & Environmental Science).


Perovskite materials exhibit excellent photo-electric properties such as large absorption coefficient, long carrier lifetime, high charge mobility, long migration distance, and extremely low defect state density, exhibiting a great deal in inexpensive solar cells and other optoelectronic devices. The application value. In perovskite solar cells, high-performance electron-transport materials are critical to improve device efficiency. In the previous work, the team for the first time used solution-based low-temperature processing methods to prepare solid-state ionic liquids with high light transmittance and high electron mobility as electron transport materials. The successful preparation of a flexible perovskite cell with an efficiency of 16.09% was the current use of calcium and titanium. The highest efficiency of mine flexible devices (Adv. Mater. 2016, 28, 5206-5213).

In this work, the team used ionic liquids to modify the titanium oxide electron transport material, which improved the electron mobility and reduced the surface roughness, while enabling the Fermi level to shift upwards, facilitating the derivation of electrons in the device. The efficiency of the flat-type perovskite solar cell prepared based on the above-mentioned transmission material is 19.62%, which is the highest efficiency of the current perovskite planar device. At the same time, it was found that the combination of anion and titanium oxide and cation and perovskite in the ionic liquid form an effective electron transport channel between the perovskite and the titanium oxide, so that electrons in the device can be extracted and transported well. In addition, the defect state density of the perovskite thin film grown on the ionic liquid-modified titanium oxide electron transport material is low, which greatly suppresses the recombination of carriers in the defect at the device, and is advantageous to the further improvement of the battery performance. This research result provides a new and effective way to prepare high-efficiency perovskite solar cells.
