During the German Prime Minister Murdoch’s visit to China in July 2014, Volkswagen Group and FAW Group signed the “Joint Statement on Establishing FAW-Volkswagen New Production Baseâ€. In the next few years, FAW-Volkswagen will establish two cities in East China and North China in Qingdao and Tianjin. The new production base will increase Volkswagen's production capacity in China to 5 million units.
