National Standards Committee Releases Automatic Sprinkler Systems Part 17: Pressure Reducing Valves

Abstract: The National Standards Committee issued the No. 10 announcement on July 20, 2011, approving the release of GB5135.17-2011 "Automatic Sprinkler Systems Part 17: Pressure Reducing Valves", which is a mandatory national standard. It will be implemented from November 1, 2011.

GB5135.17-2011 specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of automatic fire extinguishing system pressure relief valves. It is suitable for direct acting and pilot operated pressure reducing valves in sprinkler systems.

Relief valve is the automatic sprinkler system, through its own structural components to achieve the outlet pressure when the inlet pressure and flow rate change to a certain outlet pressure valve. With the rapid development of the national economy, more and more high-rise buildings and other multi-functional and complex buildings are also used. The pressure reducing valve serves as a pressure-reducing control valve for the partitioned water supply to equalize different differential pressures and flow rates. Extensive, role is also more and more important. This standard provides a unified stipulation on the structural components, materials, strength sealing, decompression performance, and work reliability performance of pressure reducing valve products, which will help improve the overall quality level of the product.

The standard was drafted by the Tianjin Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security. The implementation of the standard will provide a basis for the production of direct acting and pilot operated pressure reducing valves in China's automatic sprinkler systems, facilitating the design, use, and maintenance of the product and playing an important role in the stable operation of the protection system.

Halotolerant Bacteria

Description Form:

Powder Main ingredients: Bacillus & coccus which can grow spore(endospore) Living bacterium content: ≥20 billion/gram

The test shows that the following physical and chemical parameters for bacterial growth is most effective: 1.pH: In the range of 5.5 and 9.5, most rapidly growth is between 6.6-7.4 , the best efficiency is at 7.2. 2.Temperature: It will take effect between 10℃-60℃.Bacteria will die if the temperature is higher than 60℃. If it is lower than 10℃, it will not die ,but the growth of bacteria will be restricted a lot. The most suitable temperature is between 26-31℃. 3.Micro-Element: Proprietary bacterium group will need a lot of elements in its growth , such as potassium, iron, sulfur, magnesium, etc. Normally , it contains enough elements in soil and water. 4.Salinity: It is applicable in salt water and fresh water ,the maximum tolerance of salinity is 6%. 5.Poison Resistance: It can more effectively resist chemical toxic substances, including chloride, cyanide and heavy metals ,etc. *When the contaminated area contains biocide, need to test the effect to bacteria.
