More than 40 years later, this hydraulic press has been darkened, but it still exerts 10,000 tons of force in the workshop of the heavy factory, and the smoldering steel ingot is generally forged. The 16,500-ton hydraulic press independently developed by the joint research institute of the Supreme Plant will stand side by side with the hydraulic press, and the strength and precision will be better than that of the older brother.
Ye Zhiqiang, deputy general manager of Shangzhong Factory, told the reporter that this hydraulic press is completely the result of their independent innovation and contains more than 20 patents. Because of the greater pressure than the hydraulic press, the hydraulic press can easily forge larger volumes of steel ingots. Unlike the hydraulic press, the hydraulic press is not manually pulled, but is operated by the CNC operating machine to clamp the forging, and the efficiency can be increased by 30%-40%. At the same time, the operator can reduce the machining error from the current 25-40 mm to 2.5 mm by controlling the operation of the two computers.
As the mother machine of equipment manufacturing, the birth of this hydraulic press will end the history of China's inability to forge steel ingots of more than 300 tons, and can help the domestic equipment manufacturing industry fill many gaps. With the help of this hydraulic press, the Supreme Plant will achieve local production of large components such as generator rotors, blades and marine crankshafts of more than 600,000 kW.
It is reported that in recent years, Shanghai has taken the commanding heights of the domestic equipment manufacturing industry as an important target for the development of advanced manufacturing. The Lingang Equipment Industrial Zone covering an area of ​​36 square kilometers will be put into operation within the year. With the processing and forging capacity of the 16,500-ton hydraulic press and the superior conditions of the Lingang Park, the extreme manufacturing capacity of the Shanghai equipment industry will have a qualitative leap and the ability to meet the strategic equipment needs of the country in nuclear power, steel and coal chemical industries.
