Oxides are compounds (and certainly pure). Its composition contains only two elements, one of which must be oxygen, and if the other is a metal element, it is called a metal oxide; If the other is not a metallic element, it is called a non-metallic oxide.
Oxides in a broad sense refer to binary compounds composed of oxygen elements and another chemical element, such as carbon dioxide (COâ‚‚), calcium oxide (CaO), carbon monoxide (CO) and so on. However, compounds formed by the combination of oxygen and more electronegating fluorine are generally referred to as fluorides rather than oxides.

Ionic oxides: oxides formed by some active metal elements such as Na2O, CaO, etc

(3) According to the oxidation state of oxygen, it is divided into ordinary oxides (oxidation state of oxygen is -2), peroxides (oxidation state of oxygen is -1), superoxide (oxidation state of oxygen is -1/2) and ozonide (oxidation state of oxygen is -1/3)
(4) According to the acidity and alkalinity and whether it forms salts with water, and the salts generated are divided into acidic oxides, alkaline oxides and amphoteric oxides, neutral oxides, and complex oxides.
