Since the electrical part undertakes the intermittent feed movement, the mechanical structure is greatly simplified, so that the performance of increasing the milling feed is greatly realized (as long as the motor is continuously operated), and the feed precision is also to meet the processing requirements.

Due to this necessity and possibility, the use of time relays to control intermittent feed should be prioritized on light gantry planers.

The minimum transmission ratio of the transmission system should meet the requirements of minimum milling feed, and the maximum transmission ratio meets the requirements of fast movement. On this basis, the adjustment of the time relay is used. When the time relay is adjusted to the shortest working time, the mechanical transmission route is the minimum planing feed for the minimum gear ratio; the time relay is adjusted to the longest working time, and the mechanical transmission path is the fast moving (the gear ratio is the maximum) to obtain the maximum planing feed. .

In this way, from the mechanical point of view, there are only two transmission routes, the minimum milling feed and the minimum planing are given to one route, and the fast moving and maximum planing are given to one route.
