Two IEEE International Standards will be developed

It is reported that the IEEE P1893, IEEE P1894 International Standards Development and First Working Group Meeting was opened at the Sichuan Electric Power Company Management Training Center. The two-day meeting will complete the IEEE patent policy discussions, the formation of working groups, and the appointment of personnel, working group rules and Procedure approval, standard situation introduction, standard preparation outline and preparation instructions, follow-up work arrangement and so on. The relevant leaders and experts and scholars from the Department of International Cooperation of the State Grid Corporation of China and the Ministry of Science and Technology, the IEEE Association, the State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company, the State Grid Sichuan Academy of Electric Power and related major universities and enterprises attended the meeting.

IEEE P1893 (Guidelines for Testing Parameters for DC Transmission Lines and Grounding Circuits) and IEEE P1894 (Guidelines for Online Measurement and Recording Systems for Transient Overvoltages of Power Systems) were approved by the IEEE on June 14, 2013. The State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company is the first provincial company in the State Grid Corporation of China to undertake the development of IEEE international standards.

At the kick-off meeting, Li Haixiang, deputy director of the International Cooperation Department of State Grid Corporation of China, stated that the establishment of two international standards, IEEE P1893 and IEEE P1894, is of great significance to the standardization work of the State Grid Corporation. The launch of the project and the opening of the first working group meeting have Milestones. With the progress in the formulation of the two standards, the State Grid Corporation will continue to deepen cooperation with all IEEE members and make greater contributions to the development of the world's power industry.

At the meeting, Shi Junjie, chief engineer of the Sichuan Provincial Electric Power Company of the State Grid, expressed warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the leaders and experts at the meeting. He also introduced the construction and development of the power grid in Sichuan Province and the progress of the standardization work, and stated that the Sichuan company will We will fully organize the preparation of the two IEEE standards, complete the tasks in a timely and high-quality manner, and make its due contribution to the development of electric power technology.

Hua Ning, the regional director of IEEE Asia Pacific, briefly introduced the IEEE organizational structure and its status in China, and the development of IEEE standard activities in China. He also hopes to work more closely with power companies in the future to jointly promote IEEE standardization.
