2010 Cummins Engine China sales 310,000 units, 20% increase in 2011

Benefiting from the continued recovery of the Chinese economy, especially the rapid development of the commercial vehicle market, Cummins (China) Investment Co., Ltd. performed well in 2010. In 2010, Cummins sold 310,000 engines, including all engines and other components, and Cummins sales in China are expected to reach US$3 billion.

In 2009, Foton Cummins officially started production, focusing on the light vehicle market. The successful launch of the ISF series engines in the light vehicle market (including light trucks and light passengers) in 2010 has enabled Cummins to increase its share of this segment of the market. It is worth mentioning that in 2010, new products introduced by Cummins introduced the new environmental protection standard, the US EPA 2010 standard, which greatly supported the export of Chinese passenger car products to the North American market. Ancillary buses exported to the U.S. market in 2010 are powered by Cummins engines that meet EPA standards.

In 2011, China's economy will maintain rapid growth, and infrastructure such as highways and ports will continue to be constructed with the country’s strong support. Thus, a basic judgment is reached that the volume of logistics and transportation will certainly continue to increase.

In 2011, China’s urbanization will be further improved. The people’s income level will continue to increase, and the corresponding consumption level will also increase. Under this background, the purchasing power of consumers, especially the residents of the towns below the county level, will increase their purchasing power. These factors are very beneficial to the entire automotive industry.

In 2011, Cummins's business in China will focus on three aspects: First, continue to introduce new products; Second, the total production capacity continues to increase; Third, the service network is expanded to the second and third-tier markets, increasing the network coverage density. Based on the existing 12 regional distribution centers, it will build more than 30 customer support platforms and cover Cummins regional customer support centers in each province. In addition, Cummins will continue to expand its dealer team and the number of authorized dealers will increase significantly. Although there are ups and downs in the sub-market performance, we believe that Cummins' business in China will increase by 20% in 2011 based on the customer's trust in Cummins products and the continuous advancement of key businesses.
