Recently, Cathelco announced that it will supply ballast water treatment systems for a new offshore vessel built by the US Oriental Shipbuilding Group. The owner is Harvey Gulf International Marine.
The ship, called Harvey Stone, with a ship number of 234, is a Rampage 6400 multi-purpose on-site oilfield ship (MPFSV) with a length of 64.8 meters and a width of 18 meters. It is expected to be delivered in the second quarter of this year.
It is reported that Cathelco's ballast water treatment system combines filtration and UV anti-virus technology with a processing capacity of 150 cubic meters per hour. Cathelco's system was approved by the IMO in May 2014 and will soon be approved by the US Coast Guard's AMS. Cathelco is one of the few manufacturers of ballast water treatment systems in the industry that use UV disinfection technology.
In addition to ballast water treatment equipment, Cathelco also manufactures marine pipeline protection systems, ICCP hull corrosion protection systems and various types of desalination plants.
