On the morning of July 28, Dangshan County was awarded the title of “China Automobile (Motorcycle) Parts Manufacturing Base†by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and formally granted the license. It is also the only automobile (motorcycle) parts manufacturing base in the Midwestern China.
Since 2004, China has established five major automobile (motorcycle) parts manufacturing bases in the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, the Beibu Gulf and the surrounding areas. Currently, Lushan is ranked among China's sixth-largest automobile (motorcycle) parts manufacturing base due to its unique industrial advantages and geographic advantages.

The output value of component manufacturing reached 7.05 billion yuan, accounting for 9% of Chongqing. At the same time, the characteristic industries are even more pronounced. Lushan Micro-vehicle transmission output ranks first in the country and accounts for more than 60% of the national micro-vehicle transmission market. The brakes produced in this county cover light vehicles, mini-vehicles, cars, and other areas, and have occupied domestic cars. More than 12% of the market share in the brake field has been achieved. The successful production of the automatic transmission for the Qingshan Motor Company has broken the monopoly of foreign countries and has filled China's gap in this field.
According to the development plan for the manufacturing base of auto (motorcycle) parts, Lushan will build a mature industrial cluster with complete industrial chain, complete cluster elements, and reasonable structure. It is estimated that by 2012, it will achieve an annual output of 3,000 special vehicles, 300,000 micro-cars, 3.5 million motorcycles, 3 million micro-vehicle transmissions, 5 million automobile brakes, 1 million automobile engines, and 5 million motorcycle engines.
By then, the base will achieve a total output value of 36 billion yuan, accounting for 55% of the county's industrial share. The output value of the Lushan automobile industry has reached 10% of the total value of the automobile industry in Chongqing, and the output value of the parts and components manufacturing industry has reached more than 20% of the output value of the Chongqing component manufacturing industry.
