In response to rumors that the salt area in our province was affected by typhoon and salt production would cause rising prices of salt, the Provincial Salt Bureau held a press conference on the 28th saying that the supply of salt in our province was adequate, the price was stable, and salt price rumors were false.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Provincial Salt Bureau, “Dawei” caused huge losses to the Binzhou and Dongying salt regions in our province. Due to the large amount of rainfall and long duration, the original salt in Binzhou and Dongying salt areas was partially lost. In addition, the fourth-grade brine required for production was basically destroyed, and there was little salt left in the pool. According to preliminary statistics, the salt production in Binzhou and Dongying will be reduced by 1.3 million tons in autumn, and the production of salt in the whole province will reach 2.5 million tons in the whole year. According to last year's production, the total output of crude salt in our province is about 21 million tons this year.

Zhang Jun, director of the Production and Operation Division of the Provincial Salt Administration, said that raw salt is an important raw material for chemical industry and suffered from natural disasters. The recent rise in the market price of raw salt has led to signs of rising prices, and the flow of salt out of the market has been implicated in rising prices. Zhang Jun said that although the original salt is the main raw material of salt, but the original salt and salt are two systems, the original salt is mainly used in chemical industry, the market is open, the price changes with the supply and demand fluctuations, due to production cuts caused by price increases is a normal phenomenon. The sale of salt is a national franchise, and the price of salt is uniformly formulated by the national and provincial price management departments. Salt production and marketing companies must be strictly enforced. Therefore, the rumors that the salt price increase caused by the reduction of crude salt is false.

In accordance with the franchise policy and emergency management system requirements, wholesale companies throughout the province must maintain the normal sales of salt inventory for two months, and salt production enterprises using sea salt as raw materials should guarantee the normal production of raw salt reserves of 3 to 6 months. At present, the province's salt production in the company's inventory of 65,000 tons, in the wholesale company inventory of 79,000 tons, a total of 144,000 tons, fully able to meet the market demand for salt.
