Wuhan Iron & Steel Heavy Industry Group has achieved a breakthrough in crane design

The lifting equipment manufacturing center of Wuye Sub-company of Steel Heavy Industry Group has achieved breakthrough results in the lightweight design of crane products.

For a long time, the company's crane products have resulted in high costs and low profit margins due to their own majorness. At the beginning of 2011, the center set up a "lightweight design for crane products" research group, and organized technical personnel to target advanced technologies for domestic crane design, and to carry out scientific and technological research in reducing product weight and height. The design team passed several scientific demonstrations. At the end of June of last year, the lightweight design of the 32/5T×22.5M bridge crane achieved a stage success.

At present, this type of crane has been completed by lightweight design. The height of the crane has dropped by 242 mm, which is 9.7% lower than that of the original design. The weight has been reduced from 44560 kg to 37276 kg, and the total weight has dropped by 16.3%. The reduced crane fully complied with relevant performance standards, and the amount of steel used was reduced by 7284 kilograms compared to previous years, which resulted in substantial cost savings and economic value of nearly 40,000 yuan.
