Wind power is rapidly becoming a mature technology and has proven to be more stable and competitive. Wind power not only has the advantage of low installation cost, but also provides a "cost-stable" option for power companies, independent power operators and other companies, especially in the context of the current volatile price of fossil fuels. ”

China continues to drive global growth. In 2014, the newly installed capacity reached 23,351 MW, an increase of 45% year-on-year. Due to China’s strong performance, Asia has also become the world’s largest installed capacity with an annual installed capacity of 26,161 MW. In 2014, India's newly installed capacity reached 2,315 megawatts. This is a good performance that places India in second place in Asia. India will also usher in a new wave of wind power development.

The European wind power installed capacity achieved a slight increase in 2014, with newly installed capacity of 12,820 MW, which is less than the record for the highest installed capacity in 2012. Germany's new installed capacity of 5,279 megawatts surpassed its previous installed capacity and ranked first in Europe. Britain performed well and ranked second in Europe with 1,736 megawatts of installed capacity. Sweden’s installed capacity exceeded 1,000 MW for the first time, reaching 1050 MW.

The 300 MW wind farm in Africa, Tarfaya, the largest wind farm in Africa, was connected to the network and put into operation. South Africa’s wind power started robustly. In 2014, 560 MW of new installed capacity was installed, bringing Africa’s total installed capacity to 934 MW.

Brazil continues to lead Latin America with an additional installed capacity of 2,472 MW. Total installed capacity in Latin America is 3,749 MW. Among them, 506 MW in Chile and 405 MW in Uruguay. U.S. wind power began to pick up after the trough in 2013, with 4,853 megawatts of new installed capacity. Canada has a record 1,871 MW of installed capacity, and Mexico’s 522 MW of installed capacity also performed well.
