In the early morning of 10th Beijing time, the US Department of Justice announced on Tuesday that Hitachi Automotive Systems admitted to operating the shock absorber price in the United States and will pay a criminal fine of $55.48 million.
This guilty plea is the latest development in the US authorities' investigation into the manipulation of auto parts prices. Including the Hitachi Automotive System, 46 companies and 64 individuals have been accused by the US authorities.
In 2013, Hitachi admitted to operating the starter and other auto parts in the United States. The company was fined 26.9 million euros in the EU for the price of the alternator and starter for the car in January.
