The SUV maintained strong growth momentum, with overall sales up 64% year-on-year, ahead of other market segments. Sales of the Cadillac brand products increased by 36% year-on-year, achieving double-digit growth for the 20th consecutive month. From January to October this year, GM and its joint ventures achieved a cumulative retail sales volume of 3,130,862 vehicles in China, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%, a record high in the same period of the previous year.
Cadillac brand
The Cadillac brand sold 17,018 units in October. The XT5 is still the best-selling model of the Cadillac brand this month, with 6,615 units sold. ATS-L broke through 5,600 units, a year-on-year increase of 37%. Sales of luxury flagship sedan CT6 increased by 81% year-on-year. XTS luxury sedan sales increased by 16% year-on-year.
It is reported that the new generation Cadillac XTS will be officially launched on November 5, further enriching the Cadillac brand lineup. According to relevant information, the appearance of the new car will inherit the new design language of the Cadillac family. For the interior, the new generation of XTS is more luxurious, with professional hand-wrapped leather seats and solid wood interiors. In terms of power, the new XTS will follow the current 2.0T engine, which has a maximum power of 198kW and a peak torque of 400Nm. The transmission system is matched with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Buick brand
The Buick brand sold 107,297 units in October, up 2.1% year-on-year. The GL8 family sold more than 12,300 units, up 84% year-on-year, further consolidating its benchmark position in the MPV segment. With more than 19,000 units sold, Encore continues to lead the joint venture brand mid-size SUV segment. The sales of LaCrosse sedan was close to 11,000 units, up 32% year-on-year.
In addition, this month's new GL6, Yuelang, 2018 Xinyinglang, 2018 new Weilang sedan and Weilang hatchback / GS jointly listed in the domestic market, deepening the layout of the Buick brand in the family car market.
Chevrolet brand
After more than a year of brand transformation and product layout, the Chevrolet brand gradually increased sales and set a sales record for October. This month's sales reached 61,065 units, a year-on-year increase of 17%. The Chevrolet flagship sedan Mai Rui Bao family sold more than 14,000 units, up 59% year-on-year. The Kovaz sedan sold more than 22,000 units in October, a 90% year-on-year increase. Chevrolet's global SUV model explorers maintained good growth and sold nearly 6,500 units.
Baojun brand
Baojun brand sales in October reached 104,755 units, a year-on-year increase of 56%, creating a new monthly sales volume. The sales volume of Baojun 510 exceeded 45,000 units, and it was the seventh consecutive month to win the Baojun brand sales champion. Baojun 310 has been widely acclaimed in the past four months, and nearly 14,000 units were sold in October. The Baojun E100 pure electric vehicle was sold in Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province, and sold more than 1,700 units in October.
Wuling brand
The Wuling brand sold a total of 92,588 units in October. The Wuling Hongguang family, the best-selling Wuling brand, sold more than 42,000 units in October.
